Biotic Factors
Biotic factors are living factors that influence an ecosystem such as plants and animals.
In the hot and dry desert the plants are mainly ground-hugging shrubs and have short woody trees with leaves that are fully supported with nutrients called replete. Some of the replete plants are turpentine bush, prickly pears, and brittle bush. As for animals they come out at night becuase the temperature is a little bit cooler than it is during the day time such as unlike other aniamls, Fennec Fox can survive body temperatures that would be dangerous to humans, because long appendages (legs, ears, etc.), or small "bodies" radiate heat of the desert.
Semiarid desert have many plants that provides protection in a hazardous environment. Seriaid desert have many plants that have silvery or glossy leaves, allowing them to reflect more radiant energy.
Coastal Desest plants lare salt bush, buckwheat bush, black bush, rice grass, little leaf horsebrush, black sage, and
chrysothamnus.
In cold desert the plants are widely scattered with heights of heights vary between 15 cm and 122 cm.The main plants are deciduous with spiny leaves. Widely distributed animals are jack rabbits, kangaroo rats, kangaroo mice, pocket mice, grasshopper ,mice, and antelope ground squirrels
