Welcome
When you imagine the desert, what do you think of first? Maybe it's an image of creatures rotting themselves in the sun, or a camel traveling in the dangerous heat searching for water. Although these are the common thoughts of the human mind, we must think like a scientist. Abiotic and biotic factors, density dependent and independent limiting factors, producers, consumers, keystone species, endangered species; they all lie under the same category of the desert biome. Our job here is to provide you the knowledge of the desert biome, from the abiotic factors to the biogeochemical cycle. So come explore the site, and see the new knowledge that is waiting for your arrival. This is a great opportunity to learn new things you didn’t know about the desert, and we hope after this adventure all your questions will be answered.
This is a map showing all of the major deserts in the world (Antarctic, Arctic, Gobi, Great Victoria, Colorado
Plateau, Gibson, Kyzyl-Kum, and Iranian are the deserts that are not shown above.)
